  • Denmark's data protection authority responded to Børns Vilkår's inquiry, suggesting that social media platforms might breach age limit laws.

  • Italy's data protection authority, allowed OpenAI to reactivate ChatGPT in the country after meeting several conditions related to personal data processing.

  • Poland's data protection authority showed concerns over the proposed bill the National Register of Persons Performing Certain Public Functions.

   

AMERICAS

  • The U.S. Federal Trade Commission finalized its January order against data broker InMarket Media over claims of improper location data collection.

  • The U.S. National Security Agency's disclosure report showed U.S. citizens appeared 31,000 times in the agency's foreign spy reports in 2023.

  • UnitedHealth Group confirmed to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance that it paid hackers USD 22 million in ransomware payments.

  • Hong Kong's Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data released its investigation report on a data breach on the Consumer Council.

  • The New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs proposed the government should cut privacy and information security positions to reduce government spending.
